The online lessons and assessment gives guidelines on the safety requirements to be adopted by all personnel working within Cairns Kuranda Steam sphere of operations, and supercedes the previously issued depot induction booklet. Access to online resources is to be made available to all new employees and volunteers when commencing work with CKS.

New employees will be given a guided familiarisation tour of the depot by a nominated member of senior staff.

An operation of the type conducted by Cairns Kuranda Steam requires a number documented policies and procedures. A series of documents, known as the Safety Management System have been published, and all Railway Safety Workers at CKS are required to read, and acknowledge their acceptance of the procedures applicable to their occupation.

The documents are all available online and access will be arranged by the Operations or Business Development Manager.
